91 Pickup Ran Good not not Now So im making IT =0
was tired dont mind the title
So i have the 3.o in the rig and she ran supper Good.. But She has been feeling a little Slugy. So i Started to look and see what was going on... I have and Oil leek from the Valve cover's .. and i pulled 1 plug and it was shot. Time to do some thing about it.
So i got:
2 Valve Cover Gaskets - From Toyota
Oil Cap
Cap & Rotor
6 NkG Plugs
ing Wire set
Radiator cap
Pcv Grommet
Oil & Filter
IP Gasket.
So that ate up some money and i have to hold off on my headers
So here are some pics of how it went to day
What Shod i clean the inside of this with ??
Driver Side off
Driver side Back on
Other side it was nasty took a wile to clean it up. And the PCV grommet was hard and brittle
This is the cleanest one =(

How much did Toyota charge for the valve cover gaskets? I think thats a autozone or napa thing for me! But my 88 3vze has some new ingition parts now (distibutor cap/rotor, wires, plugs, ect) But, my vavle cover gaskets (along with the suspected rear main seal) leak very bad. The motor burns no oil, yet it needs nearly a quart a month from leaks! How hard would you say the vavle cover job is? Oh, and then a valve adjustment is something else Im gonnna have to do once I dig in there! Sweet looking truck!

You should pull the throttle body off while you are at it and clean the whole intake. TB gaskets are cheap. Use Deep Creep to clean the inside of the intake as best you can and then also clean the TB. Another idea is to use a small, hand held steam cleaner that you can find at Rite Aid or probably a WalMart even. Something like a Bissell 39N71 for around $40 - http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM241795627P Just make sure the inside of the intake is nice and dry before putting it back on.

easy off brand oven cleaner will DESTROY that crud in your intake. that stuff is friggin amazing for cleaning engine parts. spray it on let it sit for about 30 minutes, and rinse it off in the hose. repeat if its super bad. just wear gloves unless you enjoy acid burns and your finger nails peeling up, i learned that the hard way lol, given i used like 3 cans on an entire motor and scrubbing
PS pay the extra dollar 50 for the Easy Off* brand, its infinitely better than store brands.
