When I did mine I found it a lot easier to reassemble the top of the engine on the bench instead of in the truck. I took it all apart to get the head out. When I put it all back in, I put the lower intake on the head on my workbench. Then put the water block off plate and pipes on it. Then the injectors and fuel rail. Pretty much did the whole top end at one time. It gets pretty heavy with all that crap on it. But its not unmanageable.

OK, right now I'm smack dab in the middle of changing mine out. Make sure you have all of the gaskets that you'll need. I changed out my fuel filter since it was going to be accessible. Lots of people will tell you to change out your timing chain as well. Make sure you label your vacuum lines. Lots of your electric lines will be color coordinated. Make sure you have a Haynes manual--Chiltons wasn't all that helpful. This forum has been a tremendous resource!

I wasn't able to take out the intake manifold because of the tranny wires running thru 'em. No big deal though. Make sure the surface of the block is completely free of any residual HG. I'm sending out my fuel injectors as well.
