Head Gasket Spray Adhesive?

Ok ive swapped my AC compressor and got the block prepped for the heads. I have the rock gaskets from engine builder, does anyone recommend I use any kind of spray on gasket sealer on the HGs?

NO!

Because of the dissimilar metal and different expansion rates of the metals used in the head and block the gasket needs to slip a little. The gasket itself has some adhesives in the block side (I think). Either way, you want clean surfaces so the head can slip ever so slightly with cooling and heating.

I know a guy who uses silver spray paint to make head gaskets stick, not sure what brand he uses, but he swears it works.

I've used stuff designed for head gaskets when dealing with composite gaskets. It shouldn't be necessary.

If you're going to run a MHG don't use the spray, it breaks down the factory coating which defeats it's purpose but if youre running a stocker which is not metal, than a few even sprays are money.

My buddy just rebuilt his 22 re and he told me that the gasket he got for the head in the rebuild kit was tacky. I really wouldn't recommend using anything on the gasket or surfaces.
