Bingo. think about shop rates? 70$ an hour is a fair price...now we all know your truck wont be prepped completely in an hour, no matter how good you are, and no matter what tools you have. Plus, you think they will be working fast?!?

I think black would look good too, but very hot. As far as fading, I can keep it in the garage when I'm not using it. Trail rig in garage, DD in driveway....hmmm, can you tell I'm single...lol
My interior is blue & I'm a Penn State grad so white works for PSU colors....lol

yea the more i think about and see all the fading i dont think im going to do it...plus in Tucson, AZ i think any extra coating on the entire body would make the runner a freakin oven...thanks for all the pics and testimonies haha.

I think I would just like to do the rocker panels and maybe a strip on the front part of the hood where all the rock chips are. I think Line-x is probably the way to go, it seems to be the best on the market, though it is probably the most expensive. Anyone here got experience with any of the do it yourself kits?
This guys rig look really awesome:

And this product claims to be better than most commercial spray on liners as a Do it yourself:

"LINE-X weighs .7 pounds per square foot at 1/8" thickness. Typically, for exterior applications, the thickness is about 1/16" up to 1/8". "

Sounds pretty heavy to me? I have no idea how many sq. ft. our trucks are though.
I'm sure its worth it though, no more car soap and wax- would just need a pressure washer!

To everyone saying that the liners have UV built into them. They do but it doesn't last very long. BOTH of my vehicles that have durabak on them have UV built into the mix. They both faded horribly. I painted over them both with rustoleum paint that you can get in gallon containers at lowes for about $25. I just rolled it on over the liner. I painted my red 4runner black and my orange jeep orange. I wish I had redone the 4runner in red but it looks okay black too.

That looks great boypilot. I'm planning on lining the lower 3rd or so of my 4Runner, but I have rust to sand down and one hole to fill...but after seeing this pic, I might be thinking about lining the whole thing.
