Harmonic balancer counter tool
Does anyone know if this tool will work with a 3vze crank pulley?

The description says 96' and later 3.0 toyotas. I thought 96' and later was 5vze.

that's kind of strange because the description says '96 and later 3.0 V6 and if i'm not mistaken they stopped making the 3.0 in 1995. seems like a good tool if the distance between the bolt holes lines up with our 3vze crank pulley. maybe click on that "ask a question about this product" button? good luck!

Just make one from some plate aluminum. All you need is to saw it to length, drill a larger hole with a hole saw, and drill 4x holes for the bolts.
That listing talks about Lexus. Did the Lexus vehicles get their own 3.0? Like the one in the Camry? It may not be talking in any way about the 3.0 that we have in the Runners and pickups.
Also, no way you work on that bolt with that little wrench in that guys hand....too small.
And, just a heads up, towards the end of the 3.0 manufacturing run Toyota increased the torque spec on the crank bolt to 218 ft-lbs, as they had some issues with it coming loose. The bolt stayed the same, just the torque increased.

I did the starter trick, I used a hammer for my wrench to have a contact point. It was pretty sketchy but it worked, Just used a torque wrench instead when I put it back on. If you want to do it a redneck way I can try to spell it out more.

This tool does not work on 3.0L 4 Runner 1992-1996.
Does this help?
