Half doors complete!

Some guy was selling an 89 truck on craigslist and said it came with half doors so I asked if he would sell the doors seperately and after about a week he sold them to me for $75. They were cut then 2x4's were put in between to give the support and it had tan vinyl pleather stuff on them to cover the tops. They were in decent shape but I sanded them down and primered and rattle canned them to match my truck as best as possible, then I painted the inside flat black and it came out pretty good! I redid the vinyl black on the top too. It took a while to make the vinyl look good and I am still going to redo a spot on the drivers side door but overall it looks good. And to keep the cops happy I installed side mirrors on both sides. I got them from Kragen for 15 bucks each. Anyways heres the pics sorry they are cell phone pics:

Thanks I'm debating wether or not to paint the inside door jam flat black what does everyone think? you wouldn't be able to tell when the regular doors were back on...idk though it may make it look kinda ghetto

Looks sweet. That black vinyl will get rather hot in the summer though. Nice soft top by the way.

Yeah thats what I've decided too I like it the way it is, I saw your 4runner and truck parked outside your house the other week, I was up your street lookin at that 84 for sale and drove it up the street and saw your 4runner.

Next step is getting some aluminum sheet too make a flat surface to mount a speaker to

haha they wouldn't fit your 4runner but if you want to buy them anyways how about $20,000? I think that would be fair...

i saw that CL ad, too...

looks like a pretty good find. for the inside, you could go with the aluminum sheet or just go pick up some masonite at Home Depot and save some dough. It should be plenty durable to support your speakers. not sure how it would hold against water, but i've definitely seen it get frequently wet and it didn't seem to swell like particle board does.

I'm not gunna cover the whole inside I don't care about that too much I'm just gunna get 16" x8" aluminum sheet from ACE thats right across the street from me for $6.99 and cut it in half and mount a 6.5 right in the middle of it, plus, leaving the rest uncovered lets me store paper and trash and other stuff inside the door and it won't blow out
