Grill swap
#3
If you have a truck it should swap right over though there may be a minor issue with the hood line. I'm told that the hood leading edge is slightly different on the earlier [89-92] trucks .
If you have a 4runner you will need to swap the whole front clip because the aero-style lights don't line up to the grill edge as the sealed beam trims do.

I totally agree with you. I much prefer the "Toyota" grill over the "Symbol" grill. What year did this grill change? If I've got a 92 4runner does that mean I can swap in any grill from 89 till the change?

Your 92 4runner uses a different grill. You would need to swap the whole thing from a 90-91 4runner. Though you might be able to just swap the toyota emblems over.
The 4runner grills were different from the pickup versions on all years. The early years look similar but they stick out farther and one of the clips needs to be broken off in order to sit flush (on a pickup).
