Got my first 4Runner

I've been a Toyota owner for the last 25 years. I have a Tundra and a Sequoia. I had a 92 pickup and a 96. About 5 weeks ago my wife came across an 88 Bronco and she really wanted it, so we got it. I knew there was going to be some repairs needed and I was pleasantly surprised that it only really needed transmission work. A week after getting the Bronco I came across an 88 SR5 V6 4Runner. Well we went and looked at it and test drove it. It has 310k miles and drives like a champ. I have no idea what power it should have, but it runs strong and drives really well. So the Bronco is gone and we have another Toyota. It needs some body work and running boards removed. The only thing that doesn't work is the cruise control and I don't really care because it slows down on the hills. The funny thing is the person we bought it from said there were selling it because their kid could not get how to drive a manual transmission. My 12 year old boy has been driving a manual since he was 10. Their loss, my gain and it was only $2k.

Anyway this forum is great and the information is priceless.

Thanks !!

my son is 13 and has driven our 4Runner also. Not an expert yet, but plenty of
time left.

x2 on teaching your son to drive stick.
