I'll bet this is the problem: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...oblems-163397/
I have a 93 4Runner with the 3.0 and i just compleated a head gasket replacement. It seems to be successful but now the engine doesn't run right. It idles rough but runs fine at about 20mph but when igo full throtle there is no response. It will shift down a gear but doesn't go. when i let off to about 1/3 throtle it gets a little boost, but i havn't been able to get it over 50mph. It actualy ran its best with no cat or muffler on it. I have checked the timing and all the vacume lines, and now i just don't know. If anyone has a sugestion let me know.

well I've had to work on EVERY vehicle I've ever owned to keep it going...
built and installed a 302 for my first car, a 79 Cobra, put 2 motors in my first 88 Isuzu PU (the first blew a HG cause it was just old, the second I put a rod through the block at 7k RPMs
), put a rear-end and trans in my 87 Cherokee (not to mention all the other fuel problems, and oil pressure problems that thing had), got rid of that and got the most reliable car I've ever owned (only cause it was bone stock, and a 2000), a Mustang, but I still worked on it and modified it a bit, replaced the head on a Sonoma I drove around for a while (it was my dad's, but he said if I fixed it, I could have it
), then picked up an 82 Monte Carlo and pulled the V6 out and dropped in a 4BM 350 me and my father built, then got my Yote, which I don't even want to list all the things I've been through and done to it, lol
Although all the work really agrivated me most of the time, staying up late at night fixing my ride just so that I could make it to high school the next morning, I'm kinda glad I did. It gave me quite a bit of hands-on experience, something no FSM or Hayne's/Chilton's book can give you!
