gm 1 wire alternator installed on 1988 22re
I had mine for a while till I finally had stock alternator issues. I ordered the 22re GM bracket from western fab for $55 and the 1 wire CS130 100 amp from ebay for $80.Everything bolted on accordingly,I had to remove the power steering unit, radiator(for easy access),drain and refill engine block with coolant and water.
Pretty much a bolt on with no alterations I even used the original v-belt.The alternator was 1-wired with a 4 gauge to a 120 amp fuse(I removed the stock 80 amp) and the signal wire pigtailed to the 1 wire hookup for the 22re to start up.Its been 2 1/2 weeks since installation and the charging system has been better running than before.
I dont have any charge light going on and Im running a voltage gauge to monitor the battery.I had to run the ground wire directly from the battery to the gauge for an accurate reading.Heres some pics of the installation from my iphone.
I gonna later install another gm bracket and alternator on my other 22re truck since this is a great modification to have.

awesome man. i was wanting to do this since I saw the same bracket on trail gear. I am having problems such as my lights flickering especially if i turn on a map light or two. also with my sub and amp hooked up it seems worse. do you think i GM alternator will help that?

At night my stock alternator setup with my lights+stereo+defroster on ...would drop my voltage below 13.5. With the GM setup the voltage doesnt fade at all and with my truck off my battery would read 12+ volts.
