Wow someone is leaking a lot of oil down there. I say Tbars are cranked way too far. You cv boot is trashed as well which would indicate tbars. Need to replace the boot and maybe even cv axles. Find out where your oil leak is coming from as well.

The oil leak is from... well everything. I have the gaskets, I just need to get it past the smog test before I start tearing it apart.

Lower the t-bars, get yourself some bj spacers and replace your cv joints. I bet the boots have been torn for quite awhile..

you can see the blocks in the back/right side of this picture:

Looks taller than 3" to me, but could be the picture. You should replace those rear springs, bet you are getting some axle wrap.

Cranked Torsion bars are probably what ripped your CV boots. As mentioned earlier--fix that ASAP. Sucks the money spent on that part won't get you laid but it will get you home

If the block you are refering to is the one circled, then that's the tranny crossmember. If not I stand corrected.

nah thats not the xmember see the ubolts line up at below the axle and go up the side of the blocks?

The California Kid- i had cranket tbars for a while and eventually the cv boots tore which youve already got and the front end wore out realy fast, you dont need any lift to run 31's id lose those blocks and lower your tbars, if you follow the tbars back to where they mount on the frame rail (i thik about 4 feet?) there are some bolts. get all the weight off your front end and loosen those bolts up start with about 5-8 rotations and see how it lookswhen you add the weight onto the front end. one thing to remember, be very particular about keeping both sides even and you will probly want an alignment after you adjust them. hope this helps

If that is the blocks then why does it line up exactly with the bottom of the cross member? Take a look at yours from the same angle and answer that question. I'll take a picture from the same angle on my truck when my batteries charge.

Close to the original pictures angle, I'm coil sprung and long before the rear is the open end of the crossmeber.

I'll try to get a better picture later, when it's not so bright out. Crappy camera.

Well here's the best I could get, but it's still the cross member.

Hey guys, those aren't my blocks. There is something in the way, but I assure you, they are about 3 inches. My leaf springs are pretty much flat.

I want to loosen those bars up. Maybe next weekend I'll do that. The darn thing rides like a freight train.

If I take those blocks out from the rear, can I still use those extended U-bolts?

And here she is...

THIS TRUCK IS A HUNK OF S**T!

It may not be the truck, but more the previous owner, but this thing is a nightmare! Not only do I have to lower the cranked torsion bars, but now I need new tires because the alignment is so f***ed up, it won't pass smog for the life of me, the high beams don't work, the horn is broken, 2nd gear grinds, the valve cover gasket leaks, the coolant passage plate leaks, the transfer case output seal leaks, the rear diff leaks, and the oil pan gasket leaks. Not to mention my engine temp gauge broke today.

Did i forget anything? ...Oh yeah. The threads on my cylinder head are stripped for my exhaust manifold bolt. Hence my massive exhaust leak.

Who wants to buy a truck!?
