Getting stuck in 4Lo...?

OK, I don't have an owner's manual, but shouldn't a 4Runner shift out of 4Lo when you it into 4Hi, or do you have to shift back to 2WD to get out of it?

Every time I try to get out of 4Lo and back into 4Hi it doesn't work, or at least it seems like it doesn't. The revs stay up and I get that cool whining sound, like a synchro in a standard spinning up kind of sound.

It should come out of four low as soon as you pull down on the transcase stick. some times it takes a little movement, try shifting at 1-3mph it should help. You might need new oil in the tcase too.

Put truck into neutral or push clutch in-then do it.

Roll a little forward, then roll a little back. Sometimes things will get bound up, and this'll help to get it back into 4hi from 4lo, or back into 2hi from 4hi.

This seems like a good time to ask since I don't have a manual...

What is the limitations for 4Lo? Like top speed and max shifting-into-it speed and all that?

To shift in 4lo you definitely do not want to be moving, and I'm pretty sure you want the auto trans in nuetral when you do it.

It's not your "retarded" computer, it's whatever the hell is going on with the underpinnings of this forum.
I suspect it's the MySqueelLikeAPiggy "database" that they use
