Gen1 4Runner pulls left on braking after all re-done
Last fall I changed nearly the entire brake system, and now the truck pulls decidedly left on hard braking, something it never did before. Ideas?
We changed: front shocks/rotors/calipers/pads/wheelbearings/locking hubs, back LSPV/cylinders/shoes, the three rubber brake hoses, master cylinder. All that's really left as original are the steel lines and the rear drums. I swapped front shocks and front tires left for right, and there was no change.
When coming to a stop, the steering wheel will make up to a 1/4 turn to the left if hands are kept off of it, and you can feel it in the steering under braking that the truck would rather go left than right.
The shop that did the brake work was sold, so I'm kinda SOL there at this point.
Any ideas what to try check next? Again, the truck didn't do it before the brake work, and there were no changes the alignment. Note that '87 is IFS.

If it's that bad, you should be able to see it on the pads (which you will need to remove to look at them). If one of the right pads is more worn than the other, then I'd go with snippits suggestion. If both the pads look very lightly worn, you could have a frozen caliper, or a failed flexible line (the interior of the line gets loose and acts like a check valve.)

Check your rear brake adjustment, they need to be evenly adjusted with the drums inner diameter nearly the same. If you did rear brakes without replacing or resurfacing the rear drums that might be your issue.
for a free test you could swap drums from side to side (this will likely require readjusting the rear brakes)
Just to be sure, you say you changed all these parts, did you use new, or remanufactured, or used parts? Were the calipers the same brand?

Pulling left means either the right side isn't working or the left side is working much better than the right side...
Most likely bleeding will fix it... if not you may have some caliper issues...
If your not able to do the work yourself, find a reputable shop that knows brakes...
