86 Gear shifting/Engine speed? Idle rough/lack of power
Okay dokie. This is a really dumb question probobly BUT since my 86 yota pickup 22r (carb) 5sp standard does not have a tach and I have not put one in yet, Im just wondering if someone knows off hand whats the max RPM (red line)?? 6k or so? AND also when shifting gears, what is the MPH (range) that I should be shifting each gear at (untill i install a tach).
I have been doing it by feel and sound, im not trusting myself heh.
sorry again for the dumb questions. If they have been awnsered before, could you please point me in the right direction?

I just dug these up abit ago for other reasons.
see post here or 96 Toyota owners manual
With my gears 3.42 on a w55 with stock 195/75-14(25.5inch)
0-15 idle-2400
15-25 1400-2300
25-40 1500-2500
40-45 1800-2000
45+ 1700+
But take what that manual says with some salt, it says max 55 in 2nd @5100rpm, 86 in 3rd @ 5300, 102 in 4th @4500
