gear shift knob removal

i have a 1988 truck manual, trying to take the knob off, i am not sure how to do it, i would have thought it would just unscrew

it should just unscrew unless it was JB welded on there. im pretty sure they are all threaded on

Yep, as long as any PO didnt mess with it, it's threaded on, righty tighty. Try putting some thick rubber bands around it for some extra grip.

edit: damn, wabbit beat me to the righty tighty

Get the girlfriend/wife to do it. Mine was tight! I was twisting and grabbing and tubbing and doing anything. I was twisting the correct way too (counter clockwise) she comes over and just twists it off.

I loosened it for her, though.
