Well I'm starting to get into building more power and I want to monitor it. I picked up a 3 pod a-pillar and am looking for suggestions on what to fill it with. Stock I have a fuel and water gauge.

I'm thinking an oil pressure gauge, and maybe a voltmeter. But that still leaves me an extra pod. Is monitoring vacuum really needed? How about fuel pressure?

Any thoughts and reasons would be a great help!!

 

I suggest either a fuel pressure or egt.

 

Doesn't SR5 include a voltmeter?

How are you building more power? If super/turbo a boost gauge would be nice. Otherwise, I would say EGT.

 

Put a turbo on it and use the last for a boost gauge!

 

EGT is practically a must in terms of knowing how the engine's running and keeping it safe. A/FR is good, but you'll need to either put in a wideband or get an A/FR gauge that will damping the bouncing that comes with a narrow band gauge (but accuracy will be an issue). Oil pressure can be handy, but the problem becomes if you see it drop to 0, it could be too late before the engine goes.

I know you already bought a triple pod, but I found that it made the left side feel claustrophobic. I went with a dual pod and found gauges from Westach that have two gauges in one housing.

Westach will sell direct, but I found great prices and service from AirStuff.com. That dual A/FR & EGT in the top spot was $75 a year ago.
