i was just wondering if you guys had any ideas on what it might be. thanks a bunch.

Will the fuel filter go in backwards on these things??

I know an old VW I had did that to me once,
I didn't know they were one way flow and just threw it in line
I sure was proud of that first tune up... other than it wouldn't run, till I asked for help

sorry, i should have stated it earlier. it a mechanical fuel pump on a 1986 22r. i dont know if the filter can go in backwards but i will give that a look. gas goes through the line, unless its going up the return line.
