This thread is from 2006.

The fancy air filters are known to screw up the MAF sometimes.

O2 sensors go bad and don't throw a CEL.

40 psi in hiliux tires = a sadist.

-Error code 21 came up for my O2 sensor. Does that count or is it only pertain to the heater circuit to the O2 sensor?

Have a 94 p/u 22re 4wd, 4 inch suspension lift. 31.10.50's. With 4.56 gears only 58,000 miles on mine. I put $40 @ 3.26 a gal. An I get roughly 188 miles. Havent switched to synthetic oil yet.

Bad?? Good?? Average?? This is my daily driver an I do 80% city driving

I'd appreciate any input

1987 Toyota 4Runner 22re 5 speed.

The original sales brochure suggests 18 city/24 highway or something in that vicinity. I was in that ball park before the 32 inch tires, but I'm stilll ok. Probably 17 city and 21 highway. Use that as your "should be" point.

Mudweiser- Moonfish is bashing you because you provided all of the information needed to do TWO basic arithmetic functions and asked someone else to find the answer. Get a calculator BTW, price doesn't effect fuel efficiency so quit making me feel bad for paying BS Californian gas prices

87 Toyota 4X4 SR5

I just had my 22re top end of the motor rebuilt and the bottom end was rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago. I also had a new transmission put in it. I filled it up on Thursday (it costed 42.00) with a 15 gallon tank and i went 60 miles and it has killed 1/2 a tank of gas. i calculated it and it is getting about 8 mph.... I changed the timing to 5 degrees like it is supposed to be and i changed plugs and wires along with running fuel injector cleaner through it and replaced the o2 sensor. I am still getting 8 mpg and the truck is burning rich. Does anybody know why? I need help desperatly!!!! i drive 30 miles round trip to work and back every day
