Gas leak

I have a Major gas leak!but it only happens when the car is cold..the Fuel is coming out of the right fuel rail under the plenum, and is dripping on to the cross over pipe...the funny thing is it doesnt do it when the engine temp is warm?i have a 3.O,and i am worried it might cause a fire. What could this be? the thing that gets me is that it only happens in the Morn. when its cold..Any thought on this?

Not sure what it could be but the reason why it doesn't leak when the engine is warm is because things expand when heated thus whatever is leaking stops when it heats up. You will have to trace the fuel lines or use a flashlight and mirror to find the leak.
Good luck.

Dude, at the back (firewall end) of the passenger side fuel rail there is a "plug" on the end with a rubber ball type thing in it. It is called the PULSATION DAMPENER, or something like that and it helps maintain even fuel pressure and compensate for hiccups in the fuel delivery system. When they get old or over-exposed to solvents additives in the fuel they break up, and begin to leak. If I remember correctly you can only reach it by removing the intake plenum-get a new gsket for it!
Hope this helps.

My leak turned out to be this VERY problem. It's really difficult to diagnose this one without taking the plenum off, 'cause you just can't see under there very well.
