i bout my 90 pick up with a three inch body lift. im interested if any one has any recommendations on making my own or should i just buy the gap guards that Parts Accessories sells for around eighty dollars? thanks!

Seems like if you wanted it they wouldn't be that hard to make out of thick plastic (plastic slip sheets for pallets would be perfect) or even sheet metal for that matter. The gaps never really bothered me...

 

lawn edge molding from home depot/lowes works good too

 

really? ive had friends make um out of tar paper but that stuff rips easy. i guess ill have to just experiment and look around

 

hey OVRRDRIVE..i noticed that it says you have bj spacers with a 4'' superlift. i was wondering how the spacers affect your lift, cv angle, and how does it perform with the lift?

 

Pond liner is the best. Pick it up at Home Depot or Lowe's where they have the little pond tubs you can install.

Everything aligned perfectly according to the computerized alignment I got. As a matter of fact the alignment tech was impressed that I used them for some reason. He saw them as soon as he looked at the front end.

The truck rides great.

where did you get um i cant find them any where

 

I did a rough alignment in the driveway then drove it to the shop. CV angle is no worse than it would be if you did a mild tbar crank.




The BJ spacers?

I got mine from TRDparts4you or whatever. It's Toyota of Dallas. Just order the ones listed for the 89-95 4runer. It's the same part. They're the cheapest place around.

 

I made mine out of some rubber conveyor belting material. I traced the outline of the stock one and added a few inches for my 2" body lift. Bolted 'em on with stainless hardware.

 

sounds good. i just needed some ideas on what type of material i should use. i might use inner tube rubber but it might be hard to work with and might not look nice.
