fuel issues

i welded on a custom winch mount. i started the truck several times to move it during the project. but when i finally finished it wouldnt start.

first question. YES i disconnected the battery every time.

Here are the current symptoms. the fuel pump does not cut on unless hard wired directly to the battery, in which case it still doesnt run. it does run however if gas is injected directly into the intake.

i have tested most components. i question the circuit opening relay so i did the jumper test from FP to B+. still didnt work.

i hope someone can help lead me the right direction here before i go replacing everything or spend the money on a shop.

thanks

Figure out why the FP test jumper is not working:

Power to the CO relay or not?

as far as the haynes manual is concerned yes i have power to the CO.

if the jumper doesnt work... does that mean a wiring issue. or could the CO still be at fault?

Well, if the CO relay is turning on and off with the ignition then it is OK, or test it:

Otherwise it is likely wiring:

if it is just wiring would the engine not start with the fuel pump hard wired directly to the battery?
