Take a look at the Harmonic balancer (Crank pulley). I've seen 2 cases where the HB has caused vibration issues on a vehicle. The 1st because the HB was damaged and the 2nd because it wasn't installed correctly after a crank seal replacement.

honestly to me, it sounds like a torque converter issue
that would be noticeable while not in gear, cause it's bolted directly to the crank and spins with the motor regardless of the speed of the truck
it may also explain the strange shifting
but I've never dealt with any Toy auto's, so I'm not 100% on that
but the HB as ATM suggested is another very good posibility as well

my harmonic balancer went bad. the rubber core sperated from the metal. the truck didn't shake like yours. on mine you could see the belt moving towards the fan and back towards the motor very fast, and it made some god awful screech and chirping sounds

my guess is torque converter also. in highschool i had an old 81 chevy 1500 pickup that felt like a washing machine out of balance b/c the torque converter was going. a buddy had the HB on his 3.0 go out as in separating the rubber from metal but it didn't do anything like this. Find a low mile tranny and put in. Sorry to hear you've th rown so much money at it.

iamsuperbleeder...thanks for the info.I have thought about the torque converter also but I have had trouble removing the inspection plate even to take a look at it.I have had a friend tell me just last week as I was talking about putting the 4runner up for sale.He said that someone mentioned the weights on the converter they just fall off because there just glued there and not welded on.I don't know how true that is but maybe it makes sense?
I'm just going to try to take it to another shop this week and get 1 more opinion, but I'm not crossing my fingers just yet.....I hate to get rid of this 4runner because I wanted it so badly but you know when the time comes you have to cut your losses and move on.I hope that's not the case but sure looks that way for now

X2 on the torque converter. I also agree with the fact you've fixed almost everything else so you should figure it out. I had a similar problem child when I was in high school and I got rid of it. The new owner fixed one thing and it ran great for years for him. Talk about frustrating. lol

Can't see the harmonic balancer turning (too dark)
Try running the engine with only the alternator belt on.
I belive you have at least two problems. The Power steering belt is one issue. see if you can get a better /brighter video of the Harmonic balancer turning.
The thump/bump you feel when you are stopping is another.
Believe it or not, you need to try yet another shop.
