Front Suspension Question

The PO had turned the torsion bars up on my truck until the distance between the top of the rim and the bottom of the fender was at 15 inches. The truck, for some reason, wants to dip and sway and it follows the ruts in the highway real bad. If I ride it up on the crest of a rut, it wants to drop back down one side or the other. I was just wondering if these symptoms could be a result of the turned up torsion bars or if I should be looking at something else. I would appreciate your opinions.

Have you had it by an alignment shop to get it checked? I don't know if cranking the t-bars will affect the alignment but it's worth a shot to have it looked at so as not to compromise safety.

Just a thought.

No, I haven't had it aligned yet. I'm going to lower the truck back to stock height first and put on some new tires and shocks. I was just curious as to what affect, if any, cranking up the torsion bars would have on a truck. If it doesn't have any effect, then I'll start looking for other things. Of course when it is aligned I'll have them check it out good too. So, what you say guys, what effect does jacking up the torsion bars on a truck to near maximum height have on a truck?

It turns the ride to crap & puts undue stress on the CV joints/shafts.

Cranked t-bars does screw up the alignment.

Yes, it rapes your camber, and stiffens up the ride
