Front Diff Issue

So this last weekend while working on my truck I noticed that the flange that comes out of the diff on the right side (passenger) has play in all directions. I am talking about the flange that the front right (passenger) cv bolts to. It makes absolutely no noise (yet).

Did the axle pop out and can I just pound it back in?

Or is the problem the bearings (with no noise I doubt this one)?

Or can I pull it out, insert new clip and reinstall?

Or am I screwed?

If you say SAS I will give you my paypal so you can deposit the necessary money

You asked for it, And i never got a paypal account, i was going to send you a dollar to help out your fund...

But if your talking about the pass side flange..might just wanna try twisting and pushing inwards...wheel the piss outta it like that, If it comes out again, might be missing a clip..

yeah, erm, eh... meh.

anyhow, pull the flange out and see if the clip is still in place. maybe need to replace it anyways if it is. but if you can get it back in there (will take some force) should hold until the next time it pops out.

my clip wore out and this happened

http://beaniam.com/cars/truck/stripped2.jpg

good on the left, bad on the right.
The clipped stopped holding it in place and that combined with the extra angle on my cv from the lift and wheeling hard ended up popping it out and cocking it sideways in the diff. Rounding off the splines on the end. I took the clip off my spare and bent it out a little farther before putting my spare stub back in the diff. It has since held in place securely.

Thanks bean. I think I will try to pound it back in. If I can't get it or it pops back out, I will remove it and install a new clip.
