the neat part of this fan is it has 2 speeds

but you really only can hook up the first speed since it will kill you system up really fast pulls lots of currant

i wired one up before on switch so it can be switch to higher speed in case i was over heating other then that it's like a reg fan

i run the flex alight http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/syclone.html

only draw's 17 amps can be ran full time with the stock alt
and cfm is pretty high and fit's perfect

The 165 pulls more CFM for fewer amps.

Anyone have the dimensions for the Lincoln MK VIII fan?

There's a visual comparison here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/i.../#post50896897

I'd like to know the height and width, if possible.

edit: found Taurus fan dimensions: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...22/#post129202

I've been researching this mod for awhile and was about to go look for the taurus fan when I found out there was a couple of recalls on these units. Has anyone had any problems with them? There are two more recalls similar to this one.

Recall Date:
DEC 21, 2001

Model Affected:
1995 FORD TAURUS

Summary:
THIS IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SAFETY ACT. HOWEVER, IT IS DEEMED A SAFETY IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN BY THE AGENCY. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: 1995 TAURUS/SABLE PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3.0L AND 3.8L ENGINES AND 1995 FORD MUSTANG VEHICLES WITH 3.8L AND 5.0L ENGINES. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE ENGINE COOLING FAN BEARING TO SEIZE.

Consequence:
SHOULD THIS OCCUR, EXCESSIVE HEAT COULD BE GENERATED WHICH COULD MELT THE FAN MOTOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. COMPONENTS INSIDE THE COOLING FAN MOTOR COULD IGNITE POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.

hermm.....never heard of any1 having probs with theirs??^^and yeah it sucks with the stock alt, ill prolly end up doing the gm 1 wire alt...and qdude if your runnin some extreme temps such as ur sayin ide prolly replace upper and lower rad hoses and do a flush with new coolant and a 180* super stat (lil bit bigger bore) should alleviate the problem
