first yota few questions.

I am new to toyotas I just purchased a 90 standard cab 5 spd with a 22re and 5.29 gears. It has a lift but I'm not sure on what size. I know it has a fabtech kit and a two inch body lift as well. It has 35x12.50x15 street tires on it with some narrow 15" wheels. I plan to eventually do a SAS swap but for now I am going to focus on paint and bumpers/sliders and wheels and tires. I know these wheels were cool back in the day but I would really like to run a set of 35" swampers on 15x12's but I don't know if they would rub or not due to offset. What size suspension lift do you think I have and do you think 12" wide wheels would rub? Thanks.

Fabtech makes the 4-5" lift. and you wouldn't really have to worry about offset on wheels as much as back spacing IMO, but you shouldn't have a problem because i imagine there pretty deep dished wheels

the offset is -44 mm, 4.75" backspacing I even thought about running 33" tires instead just to save on weight and rolling mass. It's not like the IFS will allow much flex anyway I just don't want to rub when at full lock or when crossing obstacles.

I would love to put 12" wheels under this truck

Hopefully somone will correct me if I'm wrong but i THINK any more than 4 inches of back spacing may cause rubbing issues on the UCA and possibly the other things, but I'm not 100% on that

what do you think about replacing the 35's with 33's You think it would look goofy with that much lift?

Yes i think those 35s are alnost too small. Just take off the BL. I'm a firm believer of only lifting as much as necessary

Does anybody else have anythoughts on what size wheel and tire I can squeeze. Turns out my gears are 4.88's rather then 5.29's found the receipt in the glove box where the previous owner had purchased them and had them installed.

With my current lift of 6-7" I am debating running 33x15.50x15's. I can get a decent deal on a set of 15x12's with 4" of Backspacing but I don't want to rub the fender or the UCA. I know know with the 35's it doesnt rub a bit but the wheels are 9" wheels. If I can't run 12's I will prob end up running 15x10's with 1" wheel spacers. What do you think.

also I have debated ditching the body lift. depending on whether or not 33x15.50's would rub or not with 12" wheels.

I've run 4.25" backspace, 7" wide and 4.5" backspace, 8" wide wheels, both with and without ball joint spacers, and not had any rub on the UCA's with 33x10.5's. I don't think the UCA's will be where it rubs if it does.

i figure if anywhere it would most likely rub the inner rear of the front fender at full lock if flexed but I have all kinds of room with the 35's now. I'm really leaning more towards a 33x13.50x15 super swamper LTB now with 15x12's. Heck if it rubs I can always break out the die grinder and hammer.

I'd say that's a solid plan, but I highly doubt with 4+2" of lift that 33's, even 13.5" wide, will rub.

Idk if it will rub there for sure, just a suggestion, watch your pinch weld too though. and if your plannin on wheeling or anything at all, fat tires don't go very well, tall and skinny do. Fat does look cool though.

The only wheeling I do is across muddy fields to get to my goose pit or duck blind. Not into trails or climbing. Just the occasional mud hole and mainly street driving.
