First generation rear window

I appologise in advance if this is answered elsewhere,I can't find it if it is,My rear window always worked from inside and with the key.

Last night I swapped tops from a parts rig I have so I can fix the trim around my windows and repaint the top.

Now my window won't go back up from the switch or the key.

Is there a safety switch in the top that will not let the rear window go up without the top on/plugged in?

Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated.
