Finally Lockers

After about two weeks I have new lockers front and rear!!! I orignally just wanted to change out my CV shafts but when I found out the grinding was not because of lack of grease and CV boots, i dug a little deeper. I found about half the teeth on my front ring gear was missing..... Strange how that makes a funny noise in 4wd!! That is why I opted to go with a front locker. Now the rear I needed a pinion seal so the rear was gonna be out anyways!! right?? he he.. So far I love them (Aussie) Wonderful ppl to deal with!In the past 2 weeks I have had the front diff out of two other truck and out of mine 3 times......I am getting kinda good at it! Bill

Yes they are I did my front but in the directions where it says to use grease to hold them together (Just trust me on this one skip the greese) it held mine together alright but did not let go either, so it was tear down and see what was going on then back together and same thing finally got hold of Aussie people and was told to skip the greese because it seems it don't want to let the parts that need to release to release but WOW what a differance it makes climing a hill or shoot'in thru some mud just got to get use to the new turning radius.

Well this thing drives like a totally different truck!!! I have not had it totally off road yet but did go to a construction site late last night after I got it all done. All I have to say is when you can climb a hill that your front bumper scrapes going up with 1.5" BJ spacers, T.B cranked, and 34's Like your pulling forward at the drive through is verry impressive!!! On road with hubs unlocked an 2wd it drives almost like the same truck. If I throttle through a corner with a lot of pressure on the go stick the inside tire will chirp a lot, but if I coast or go slow no different. As far as install goes, not that bad, Just make sure you mark everything and keep everything clean. Would deffantly do again. What little mud I went through (dragging the new purdy diff through the center) the tires didn't even spin. I can wait to do some hills!!! BTW the truck is urtlra flat olive drab and flat black center of hood. Me and my buddies just paint random stuff on each others wheelin rigs. My color just happens to be yellow. It matches my 07 FJ Bill

No it is a 5-speed. There is slight clicking sound from the rear if you listen for it but I never hear it. The tires are so noisy that might be covering it up more im not sure....
