The snow was up to my ifs cross member btw
Ahh ok. I'll try that next time!

I'm running 31x10.5's BFG TKO's and when I got stuck, the snow was well past my front cross member

Not to be nosy, but for this 'rocking' method, how much do you weigh???

I only weigh 165 so I don't have a lot of weight to throw around lol.

well rocking has nothing to do with you body weight it has to do with momentum. frst you go forward, then shift into reverse, then forward, reverse,... you get the point. until you can get enough momentum with your truck to move

also when stuck put it in 4lo then turn the wheels from one side to the other to see if you cant get any traction.

this only will work if you can move to beguin with cause if you cant move your truck forward or backward then your stuck

momentum anf 4lo go hand in hand when stuck

you have a valid question, but no, it wont work.

and then you can venture down here and we'll go throw some mud while blaring "Country Boy Can Survive" with a big ol rebel flag hang'n off the back of our rigs

I'd like to get up north and see the snow... but I don't think I'd just dive head-first into it in 4wd, lol

The truck heat thing would not work. Sure you would melt some snow, but there is most likely ice under them wheels and you need alot of energy to change the temperature of water. Spinning your tires to melt the ice does not work either, just makes it slicker.
Deflating your tires a bit will help, especially when combined with the rocking and sand.
This thread got me thinking; if you could fill your tires with hot air that might work.

Or get my black mage dude to do what he is doing.

Yep, all the time. It works almost as well in certain mud too.

Come on it's a 3Slow - we all know it can't do that... J/K

Oh, and I recommend everyone at least carry one of those little folding camp shovels! It has saved my butt more than once!

They are only $10 at wal-mart too
