Finally found the problem..

So I bought my 92 4Runner just last week, the owner had been having issues with it and couldn't get it sorted out, but it started and almost ran decent, just something wasn't right.. had a nasty stumble coming off idle, and would randomly idle up to above what the idle adjustment screw would compensate for ect.. so naturally I'm expecting a massive vacuum leak or stuck egr, maybe something easy enough... well the coolest looks like Arizona mud.. nasty red mud and full of crap.. so I started working on flushing that out today.. pulled the radiator and gave it a good rinse, and planned to back flush the motor and heater cores tomorrow.. but then it hit me... I'm this close to the timing belt, why not just take a look at it, see how it's doing, and verify the timing marks... well... sure enough it's off by about 2-3 teeth, with the crank at 0, both cam gears are pointing to about 11:30, then line the cam gears up to the notches and the timing mark on the crank is past the 0 mark by about 1/2-3/4 of an inch. So I'm replacing the belt with the kit from rock auto, seems pretty complete, belt, water pump, tensioner, idler pulley, gaskets and spring...

Just figured I would share my day with yall, maybe some of you are fighting similar issues and haven't verified your timing belt.. the service tech note on my cover said 106k miles was it's last service, she is at 240k now, so it was due eitherway..

Going to fix this, and get back to wheelin!
