Just picked up a truck with a 3.0 V6. 200K miles. Whats are they worth (to someone who really needs one)?

really it depends on if the HG has been replaced and how well it runs ect..

 

I could use that engine for a boat anchor or a planter

If it runs, drive it. Just don't put money into rebuilding that motor.

 

There would be alot more money if you parted it out than trying to sell it as a whole. I suggest craigslist.

 

I used to sell used ones at the wrecking yard I worked at for 900-1200 depending on miles, but that is with a 90 day warranty, you may have to hold out for the right guy that really needs one and cant find one, or sell for 5-600 on craigslist and run away laughing all the way to the bank. Just get some money out of it and be happy that its gone, and move on.
