Fan question

This may be really stupid but, the fan assembly/shroud that goes around the fan behind the rad, do you have to have it on there? Might overheat? Mine shattered into 1000 peices so not having to buy on would be one less thing to worry about. Thank you

It helps a lot at lower speeds. Having said that I haven't had one on my rig in quite a while. Mine broke apart also and I just haven't had time to install the new one I have. I think you'll be ok but I would recommend getting one back on there.

I'll be doing mine in a few weeks if don't decide to go with an electric.

If it helps any I actually didn't buy a new one. I got in touch with Deathcougar on here and bought an original from him, well I actually contacted Jennifer but they are the same company/person/entity for OEM Toyota parts. I got it in a shipment with a pile of other goodies so I can't remember what it cost but I guarantee it was a lot less than a new/after market one.

are you talking about the entire shroud that's held to the radiator with the 4 bolts, or just the little 2" or so slip that runs on the bottom of the shroud, that's just clipped in?
