Did you sit in a line for a long time with the truck idling? Do you have a high flowcat on the turck to go along with the headers and exhaust?

On my Supra I do not have a EGR as the car is hevely moded. I have a 3" high flow cat I put in for air care and I need to keep it hot in line. I am also low enough though that I just do an idle test so NOx is not tested

Jeremy

p.s. good luck man I hate AirCare, 2 years ago the guy though he was cool in my Supra on there dyno and goosed it. He got it up over 8000rpm before backing off, I walked strait into there office and got him fired on the spot.

I do have a highflow magnaflow cat, and yes I did have to wait in line about 15 mins. I had the truck idling the whole time. Now im thinking I shouldve been reving her up a little bit to keep the cat hot ( going to do this next time I go). Think holding it at 2,000rpm would suffice?

My god! 8,000rpm I bet he didn't feel so cool when his arse got the boot! What a douche.

Well kinda an update for you guys.
took it apart today, all passages were clear, no blockages. Seems the EGR modulator is taking a poop on me. 118 bucks, dealer only item! Anyone got a spare thats working? Gonna give alpis a ring, see what they want for a working one.

I also manged to find a ton of vacuum lines that were leaking! After fixing all the leaks my engine now starts right away. No 2 seconds of cranking.

Oh yeah, I heard that in the winter months, if you have studded tires they cannot test your vehicle on the dyno! Apperantly its a loophole in the system.

2000rpm should be fine, I do that with my car and it works. I have tested the car a lot on a 5 gas analizr and letting the car idle for 1min caused the cat to cool to the point it was not "sparked off". If I reved the car at 2,000rpm for a min the cat was back at full operating temp.

Good luck man,

Jeremy
