I have a set of 315/75R70 BFG A/T's kicking around, and I see a lot of Tacoma 17's for sale on Kijiji. I am thinking of getting a set to mount these on, I know they are a bit skinny for a 315, but I know it can work. I have found only 2 pics on "the google" (thanks random photo owner), but want to see what these wheels actually look like on the early model trucks. And yes, wheel spacers may be required. That's not a problem.
Here are the ones I found, which appear to be on a 89-95 model, but does anyone have any other pictures of this wheel on older trucks w/ or without 35's? Tacoma 17" with 315/70R17 BFG AT Tacoma 17" with 315/70R17 BFG AT
People do it but I won't. 11.5" wide is my limit on 7" wheels and that's only on my woods truck. I assume that's a 7" rim. If so, you are begging for trouble and will be guaranteed a prematurely worn out tire. You will likely have trouble finding someone who is willing to even mount them.

They are 7.5" rims, I know its not ideal, min recommended is 8. But since I am not worried about wear life on free tires, and I can mount and balance myself, should not be too big a problem. I just want to see if anyone has any pictures other than these 2 I found.
I'd go for it, in that case, on my 89 but not my highway rig that my kid rides in. They will look good. Here's my 89 Runner when I had Tundra wheels on it.

Those are 265-75R16. I ended up putting those on my 02 model and did some trading for some 32-11.5R15s and put them back on my factory wheels. They are doing fine on the 7" wheels but they don't take any abuse.
Well, in case anyone else is wondering. Here is my truck with 2015 Tacoma sport wheels, 285/70R17's with a 1.5" wheel spacer (must use 1" minimum to run this wheel in this truck).
