Spectra replacement fuel tank issues
I have been reading on the Toyota RV Face book page several people are having problems with the Spectra TO-8D replacement tank leaking. 2 people on their third tank. A search of this forum only shows a couple with issues. Many leak where the baffle is spot welded to the tank. Anyone else having this problem? Expiring minds need to know. Jim

Maybe it is How your asking your search questions
Try Google or your favorite search engine.
These seem to be hit or miss for quality as are many things these days.
If your installing this yourself it is just your time till you get one that works.
Paying Labor every hour is going to cost you

If it is just a few pin holes, Red-Kote is good for fixing things like that. Most automotive stores can get the product or may need to order it. It will seal the tank.

spectra = crap. period. brand new spectra radiator in my 94 (third one), leaks through the radiator cap. tried getting different radiator caps (I think I have gone through 5, they are chevy style, including one recommended by spectra), warrantied out the radiator twice, so I am on my third one. every single one leaks. I will never buy anything spectra again period

mine wasnt the baffle spot I dont think. looked like it was leaking through the area where the radiator cap seals against the radiator. didnt see any cracks /discoloration or anything else in the area. noticed an antifreeze smell soon as the truck got up to operating temp right after replacement. all 3 spectra radiators did the same thing, you get see the wet spots on the radiator fill neck. I'm a mechanic by trade for over 20 years so while I did not have to pay labor, I am pretty p.o.ed about them not getting it right. I'm thinking about lc engineerings 3 core radiator with metal top and bottoms instead of the plastic crap
