Many moons ago, I had an '83 with a broken latch. Assuming (hopefully correctly) that they were/are the same, I found an aftermarket replacement at Pep Boys for under $10. It's the "Help" brand of miscellaneous aftermarket parts. Both sides screwed in to the windows with phillips screws. Just a suggestion, this was over a decade ago.

Yeah I looked this morning.
The actualy moving latch comes on and off with screws....But, I have it...
The side that actually holds the latch is a plastic piece that fits on the whole side of the sliding window...

There not theft proof at all, the old one was drilled through from the outside into the pin hinge to gain entry by my guess the owner who possibly locked keys in truck, but a thief would know this trick I bet, so the 2 aluminum rails that are together when shut has a hole in them and didn't touch the glass, but a latch is better than a zip tie which what I'm using now, so I'll be ordering a new one next pay day. Dealer didn't show a sliding rear window on parts list...

wondering if anyone's found any more sources for sliding window latches besides the one above. although scuba's fix is pretty nifty, i'd rather go with the OG style latch....and i'm cheap
