Factory Cruise Control Install

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for cruise control on an 86 4runner. I'm trying to install the factory cc and I do not have the harness. I've got all the parts i'm just not sure where to wire everything. My Haynes is little help.

Pin-outs, wire diagrams?

Has anyone done this before?

Thanks!

Also interested in this.

Where did you obtain all of the parts? Ebay? Junkyard? Dealer?

What parts do you have?

This is something I have researched and decided to pass.

My '87 FSM dedicates 24 pages (BE82 - BE105) to this system. This does not look like an easy add-on at all (like for example adding an inclinometer or a combi-meter with a tach to a DLX). Between the completely different wire harness, CC ECU, actuator w/diaphragm, switches, etc. its probably going to be a total PITA.

...and your '86 4Runner has a 22RE...just sayin' it may not be so useful

Well I got it installed and working. I found the factory service manual on yotatech somewhere for the 85 4runner and used the diagrahm for it to wire everything. As far as getting the parts.... I bought the main switch and the combination switches(on the steering column) on ebay. The computer I found here in an old thread an emailed the guy. I got the servo from the 4runner house. They are a vender listed here too.

The wireing was crazy. Since my truck did not have cruise origionally I did not have the harness. So there are close to 15 wires that are going into the computer and routed to everything I needed in the truck.

I took the 4runner on the freeway yesterday and took it up to 75 and it held wonderfully. I was scared it wouldn't work because of all the threads I have read about non working cruise control.

Good luck to anyone trying to do it. I proved it can be done, but it was a beast.

Wow. My hat's off to you. After looking at the wiring diagram and with mine only being a weekend toy for off-road, I binned the thought.

Nice work.
