extending steering shaft

ok so i'm redoing the steering on my SASed 94 pickup. i need to move my box forward and also clock it, but to do so i need to extend the steering shaft. so how should i do this, only idea i've come up with is to cut it, extend it and sleeve it. i'm also trying to run a flat pitman arm and am having trouble placing the box in a good place with my TG mount. so any pics of people that have done that would be great.

not if this is really what you are talking about, but 4crawler makes steering shaft spacers I think? It's in his body lift section...

When I did mine I found some thick walled tubing that fit over the shaft that I cut and welded it over the 2 pieces to extend it.

Stock driveshaft has two pins in it in the top piece and will telescope if you remove those pins or you can sleeve and extend it. You really want to leave some type of telescoping mechanism in place so the steering shaft extends/contracts with flexing.

4crawler has pics on his site.
