engine swap!!??

Newbie here.....
Looking to replace my cracked 3.0 3vz in my 95 4runner 4x4. I came across a good deal on a 95 Camry 3.0 v6 and was very curious if this motor is compatible? Im assuming no, but had to ask!

Thanks in advance

Well anything is possible with time and money but I think you would be better off finding another 3VZE or better yet a 3.4.

I dont think it would work as a direct bolt up, but like they will say with the money anything can work. I believe thats the 1mz engine, which is designed off of the vz block but in aluminum.

If I was in your situation I would do the 3.4 swap, its a direct bolt on with a little bit of wiring, which you can get from offroad solutions as a plug and play kit i believe.

Thanks to both of you above!! That helps.. Can anyone tell me their opinion on the 3.4 vs. the 3.0 3vz? Is the 3.4 more bullet proof with less HG problems? Could use some more power, so will def consider it.. Any idea how much the plug and play wiring costs that I would need for this job?

thanks again...this site rules!!!!!!!!!

There's an entire forum dedicated to 3.4 swaps, all the information is there.

The 3vze, with it's many problems, is still a pretty dependable little engine. With the cost of 3.4's coming down (given the price of fuel driving down the resale of SUVs, thus more are becomming scrap), I would go the well-beaten path and find a 3.4. They're more powerful, better mileage, and none of the HG problems that plague the 3VZE.
