^ Thanks for the info abecedarian. The sun is starting to go down, but tomorrow I am going to check the timing and idle speed per the instructions above.

Another update:
I messed around with the dashpot, and noticed that the little plug thing at the very bottom of the hose, was making a big difference in how it allowed the dashpot pin to raise or lower (thus affecting the throttle. I removed that little thing, and the truck seems fine now. I drove the truck for about 15-20 minutes, up some hills, then down, and back up, I was even being aggressive with the throttle, and problem seems to have been resolved.

I am still going to run that test tomorrow on the timing and idle just to make sure everything is as it should.

Socal_style could you look at my thread labelled "High RPM Problem" and see if sounds like the issue you had? I don't think its a dirty butterfly as the manifold has been off recently. I am wondering if its not that dang dashpot. The truck runs great as long as RPM doesn't excede 2500. Any advise will be appreciated!
