Engine Help-3.0,3vze, etc

I would like some help with the different type of engines for the 4runners. I just bought another 4runner, a 88 with a 3.0 that has 190,000 on it. Planning for the future death of it, I tried to do some research on 3.0' and 3.4's. I know that the 3.0 is the least dependable of the 6's that yota made. What is the 3vze and how does it rate with other engines like the 3.4? I am more familiar with the good old 22r/e. That would run forever. Know I am learning a new series and its problems. I have done a search for some information but have not been able to find exactly what I am looking for.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

the 3vze is the 3.0 (3.slow) that is in "v6" trucks and 4runners from 88-95.5 (as well as all T-100's)

the 5vze is the 3.4 (v6) found in 3rd gen 4runners. taco's and tundras

there is a 3vzFe that is a V6 with diffrent heads and configureation that came in a camery but is generally considered unuseable for our trucks for a number of reasons (search for 3vzfe)

the rest of the 6 cylinders are straight sixes from either a land cruiser or supra and they have various names and flavors (expeically for the supra)

Thanks. If I do a 3.4 swap, does it drop in the 3.0 mounts? I know they came out later. Or would it be best to put another 3.0 in?

3.0 mounts are the least of your problems when doing a swap.

the pros and cons of a 3.0 - 3.4 conversion have been discussed in lenght ....

As for is it best to drop another 3.0 in or convert?... thats like ford vs chevy or jeep vs toyota....

my prefrance is to KISS which means another 3vze. but others will "go to there grave never owning a 3.slow again" ....

i suggest more searching for more indepth details/answers.

Thanks. I do some more research, but I was leaning toward another 3.0. I just want to get around. I have my 86 El Camino for speed.

i have a 91 runner with 3.0 & a 97runner with 3.4,the 3.4 is great,but i have been researching it for a while,my opinion-which wouldnt bya coke-is to stay with the 3.0,for the time & money involved to do a 3.4 swap,save it & by a 96up runner with 3.4 from the factory
