engine choices

OK i posted a thread earlier this week sayin my motor may be shot, well it is i slung a rod through the block and now i am lookin for new engines what engines will mate up to my transmission no prob and all the stuff n e help would greatly appreciated.

What do you have currently? The 22re is arguably the best engine ever made. I like em' Only good for about 100 hp though.

The 3.4 (5VZ-FE) will be the easiest and is the most common engine swap for a 2nd gen 4Runner.

huh? most were rated from the factory at 115-135hp. even my little carbed engine is pushing 150+...
