Engine blocks compatible

I was wondering if a block from a 1994 22re Toyota truck will bolt in a 1988 4runner also a 22re, without having to many problems. I would like to build the 94 block with " the good stuff", Cams, Pistons, Valves, etc. Then put it into the 88 4runner with minimal down time, since it is my daily diver. Or would it be better to use the 88 block and build that one instead. Any replies would be great.

Thanks for the replies. Just to get different people opinions on this. The timing chain in my 88 runner will need to be replaced, I adjusted my valves and pulled out a piece of plastic about 4 inches long, which I believe to be the guides, that was just hanging and rattling around in the top of the head. I've been doing some research about replacing the timing chain and to do it I will need to remove the heads. With that I would like to upgrade the valves and camshaft. Would it be just as good to do it now or should I wait till I finish the '94 block with all the fixings. Thanks for the replies.
