Engine??
Okay, the old yota is going to need some work in the near future, and I have been thinking about a swap, but the 3.4 is going to cost about $4K without a donor vehicle. And that is a lot of money, also considering that since I have the 22RE its going to cost more cause I am going to need a new transmission too!
So, I know the 22RE isnt a power house, but for trail riding its okay, even in this condition (buring a quart of oil every three days), I get through the same stuff that my 3.0 friends and V8 chevy freinds go through, and in fact I get through more!
So my plan is, rebuild the 22RE and add some performance parts (headers, cam, etc) and enjoy my truck with a little more power than stock. What do you all think?? Is this a wise decision?
During the rebuild, the truck is pretty much going to go through a full body off restoration. I want to rhino line the frame and underbody of the cab. And a SAS!!

Well I know the engine isnt going to cost 4k, but the swap including the engine will, and that is because i would need a new transmission and all the swap stuff like motor mounts that I would have to pay to have welded on( I cant weld).
I would get the ORS kit (roughly 2k) since I am not much of a fabricator nor do I have the means to practice, plus I would need a body lift, since I am not going to cut a hole in my hood to clear the motor. I want to keep the stock hood.
It just seems like a lot of work you know, I want to do the swap with a TRD supercharger, but all that would just be soo much money!! When I could have a reliable motor that bolts into the stock mounts with reliability and a little more than stock power.
