EGR Temp Sensor??? Please read and help!! :)
So I was looking around at the local wrecking yard today checking out a 4Runner 3vze for parts, When I noticed that it had a weird plug and wire coming off of the EGR valve. I had eventually came to the conclusion that it is an EGR Temp sensor (as per searching google.) The reason I find this weird is because my 1990 4runner 3VZE 4x4 automatic doesn't have this temp sensor at all. It has the female plug going into the wire loom right by the battery with a cap on it that looks like its a factory cap with two metal prongs on the inside looking as if it completes the circuit. Now is there any reason why I wouldn't have this sensor unless my specific veichle wasn't designed to use a EGR temp sensor??? I do not have a egr code but I am wondering if my specific model doesn't use an EGR temp sensor, or if only certain years and/or certain models use them????
THE PICTURE BELOW IS WHAT I SAW
THE FOLLOWING THREE ARE WHAT I HAVE
HERE IS THE CAP OVER THE FEMALE PLUG
HERE IS THE INSIDE OF THE CAP AND THE TWO METAL PRONGS THAT LOOKS LIKE IT COMPLETES THE CIRCUT

Any time that I have seen an EGR temp sensor on a wiring diagram it has a "California Only" notation. If your vehicle was originally purchased in Oregon, then most likely it was built to Federal Emission Standards not California.
