egr removal
If I remove my EGR valve, is there anything I need to do to the the computer it is still working?? 1988 22RE with a manual. The only reason I am removing it is in the way, not the valve its self, but the plate on the back of the head, I need that other half in for a project I am trying.

Watch the O2 sensor, also. It's going to throw the exhaust mix off a bit.....in relation to what the ECM is programmed for, anyway.
If yours doesn't have an EGR temp sensor, there's nothing there to "trick" in the way of the electrics. On the 3vze, with the temp sensor, one uses a little resistor. I'm sure the same for the 22re. I forget the specs on that in this moment. It's in numerous other threads, though.

it will run fine but you will have a check engine light. throw a 10k resistor across the egr connector on the end that goes to the computer and that will simulate a working egr and take care of the light
