Hey everyone I have been asking some questions about my 94 toy pickup. It has the 22re in it. I just put a new engine in it. At about 400 mile it threw a check engine light. So I took it to the local toyota dealer to see what was going on. They told me that the egr wasent working right. They tested the EGR and said that it was fine. They also ajusted the timming to 5* And Its now pinging. So they thought that it must be the tubes to the erg from the Header. I pulled the header off to find out, that the gasket was blocking the flow to the EGR. I took care of the blockage and its still pinging. Could it be the EGR gas temp sensor, knock sensor, AF sensor, TPS. They tested the 02 sensors and those are fine also. If anyone has any ideas of what could be the problem please let me know. It would make my life a lot better! Thanks to all!!!! This web site kicks ass!! Also I forgot to tell you all I am running good gas! 91 octane. So bad gas isent the problem.

 

you dont need the sensor to run and it will throw a code if its bad or unpluged
