EFI to carb swap

i have been looking at the wiring diagrams in the haynes book but i can not figure out what the 3 lines on the bottom mean nor the 5 lines on top mean.
im thinking the 3 lines on the bottom of the page mean it is ground since the w-b wire goes to it, but the 5 on top are puzzling me to no end and there is no legend in the haynes book.

the 5 at the top and 3 at the bottom are the common hot (at the top) and ground (at the bottom) wires.
so it sounds like you've got it half figured out.
what might help you figure it out is to photocopy the multiple pages and lay the copies out side by side.

no. the ecu requires the signal from the air flow meter to determine fuel mixture, and the afm also operates the fuel pump when the engine is running.
okay, maybe I half lied- if you search real hard and have the money, there is at least one afm to maf conversion product for the 22re's. street legal? no. doable? maybe.

Tree huggers are your friend. I'm currently living in South East Asia and have been to Vietnam and China recently. Not being able to breath sucks!!!! A large part of their problem is completely unregulated vehicle emissions.
If you get to the point where you think you have wiring problems it might be better to scrap the ECU and wiring and start over with an aftermarket system. My personal favorite is megasquirt.

I would def. keep the EFI but if not I am looking to swap over to EFI. I have a offie intake(brand New) a weber carb(maybe 400 miles on it) all you need is a fuel pump...You can use a holley blue or black pump for under 100 bucks I may even have one. PM me if interested...If not just start at one end of the truck and start repacing the wireing or at leats fixing the cripmed ends so its done right. Dont go to a aftermarket system it will be more of a headach for you with all the rewireing you will have to do. Then you got to tune it...
