Dual USB in 94 pickup

Hello all!

I have done some searching (probably not enough) and have thought about adding a duel usb charging in my 94 pickup.

something like this,

Via Google Images

I was thinking of putting it into the opening beneath the hazard switch (Rear defrost switch on 4Runner?) and was wondering if anyone has ever done this before? Problems along the way?

Thanks,
PR

I have done it in my 81 and my 94 4Runner...pretty basic, hot wire for power and a ground

Copy and paste from my build thread for my 94, this went in the back

My new favorite wiring tool...speeds things up a lot.

Crimped and heat shrinked momentary on-off-momentary off switch for the rear window

Seeing AJohnson's build reminded me this would be a good addition rear Aux outlet for a future 12v fridge and dual USB for my rear camera

I have a switch blank I'd like to fill with a dual USB charger. I found this but certainly won't pay $35 for one.

Thanks! I'm planning on putting it in the one opening that is already "pre-cut"

There's a plug in the back, yall think I could use that for power?

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but I put this in "temporarily" a few weeks ago for a camping/offroad trip.

I got the plug at autozone for like $12. Right now its just double sided taped to the bottom of the ashtray and plugged into the 12v socket but, I was thinking about maybe taking out the ashtray all together and putting this in its place. Either way its going to get hardwired into the truck to get rid of the plug and give me another power port. I thought about doing the dual USB port like what was posted above but I didnt want the wires that high up on the dash to get tangled with the mic from the ham radio and the aux input wire for the stereo.
