Downey 2.5" install

Downey 2.5" install
i was going to install the Downey 2.5" exhaust on my rig today, but after giving it a pretty good look, i am confused (no suprise here 
) as to how to atttach the high flow cat. i have the stock front pipe. if i cut the stock flange off this pipe, the cat inlet is too big to fit it, and the pipe supplied is too big in diameter as well. it does come with a flanged adapter, but the cat is the same diameter...uhhh, duhhh...
